Creating Your PortfolioIcarra portfolios are composed of transactions. An example transaction might be: Buy 15 shares of stock XYZ on 8/12/1979 for $800. Tracking a portfolio by transactions allows a portfolio to be viewed over its lifetime which is more helpful than tracking only a portfolio's current value. Entering transactions is easy. There are 3 ways to enter transactions:

Transactions for simple portfolios are based purely on dollar amounts: Choose when to move money into and out of positions without worrying about details like how many shares you are purchasing. Transactions for detailed portfolios include number of shares and trading costs which makes them useful for tracking brokerage accounts.
Icarra can also track custom positions. Custom positions are user-defined and allow you to add anything to your portfolio: Your house or investment real estate, rare coins, baseball cards, etc.
